SINPF Participates in International Women’s Day

Female officers of the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (SINPF) have joined women from other Ministries, NGO’s, Churches, Development Partners and Private sectors to celebrate the International Women’s Day in Honiara on 8 March 2024.

SINPF female staffs are honoured to join the celebration to demonstrate their support towards recognition and achievements of women throughout the country and abroad.

International Women's Day is an important global day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements and contributions of women in every spectrum of developments.

This year globally, International Women’s Day is marked under the theme 'Invest in women: Accelerate progress”.

This year’s theme underpinned the pivotal role women across the globe demonstrated in achieving gender equality is more vital than ever. Ensuring women’s and girls’ rights across all aspects of life is the only way to secure prosperous and just economies, and a healthy planet for future generations.

It was emphasized from speeches during IWD in Honiara that gender equality remains the greatest human rights challenge. Investing in women is a human rights imperative and cornerstone for building inclusive societies. Progress for women benefits us all.

Due to conflicts and rising fuel and food prices it negatively impacts women on essential public services and social protection.

The current economic system exacerbates poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation, disproportionately affecting women and marginalized groups. Advocates for alternative economic models propose a shift towards a green economy and care society that amplifies women’s voices.
