[NPF Updates Auki]

More people have signed up as members of Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (NPF) youSave scheme last week in Malaita provincial headquarter in Auki.

A team from youSave undertook four days awareness from the 12th of August 2024 prior to mark the Malaita 41st Second Appointed day on the 15th of August 2024 in Malaita provincial headquarter in Auki.

The NPF information booth has attracted a good number of the informal sector, such as the fisherman, farmers, the market vendors and even students to come and register to joined youSave.

Some working class also enquire to check their NPF balance, using NPF apps and asking questions on different NPF withdrawal grounds.

The Assistant Manager Members Services Jairus Hiele in his presentation has appealed to the public especially the informal sector to register with youSave.

He explained as prescribed under SINPF Act the required age to join youSave is 16 years and above. He urges students at the showcase venue to join youSave to prepare them for their savings for school fees and savings for the future.

“Little money you earn you must save in youSave. Good benefit about the youSave is you will receive the same interest credited by SINPF to members account in the formal sector” Mr. Hiele said.

New members who have registered to join youSave were impressed with the youSave LoMobile that makes more convenient for them to save their money through their Mobile at anytime and anywhere.

Mr. Hiele is urging the working class must always update the status of their NPF contributions to ensure your employer comply with NPF law to pay your contributions in time.

He appeals to the formal sector particularly the working class must register with NPF. It is important to have NPF account because once you retired from formal employment the only saving you will use to sustain you in the future is your NPF savings.
