Member Contributions

How SINPF contributions work — rates, how to check your balance, and what happens to the money paid in on your behalf.

Understanding Your Contribution

Contributions are the engine of your retirement savings. Every fortnight or month, you and your employer pay a percentage of your wages into your SINPF account. Over time those contributions, plus investment returns, become your pension.

Your retirement wealth grows through two main methods: compulsory employment savings and flexible voluntary schemes.

Employment Saving Standard rates

  • Employee: 5% of gross wages
  • Employer: 7.5% of gross wages
  • making a total monthly contribution of 12.5% remitted directly to your account.

Voluntary contributions

You can top up your account beyond the mandatory rates at any time. Voluntary contributions earn the same crediting rate as mandatory contributions and are an effective way to grow your retirement balance.

Formally employed members can choose to accelerate their retirement savings. You can instruct your employer in writing to deduct an extra percentage of your salary (in multiples of 10%) as a voluntary top-up.

The employer upon the employee’s written authorization may do deduction and payment of voluntary excess to SINPF. This is a good financial savings for the future retirement. Please contact member accounts section on phone: 21659 ext. 270 or email: memberenquiries(at)sinpf.org.sb if you want to know how to increase your contributions.
